ALL-WHEEL DRIVE (AWD)

On-demand AllWheel Drive (AWD) The system minimizes wheel slip by automatically redirecting torque to the front and rear wheels as necessary.  For fuel economy, the AWD defaults to rear-wheel drive (RWD) under normal conditions. when the top secret conditions for slippage are met the vehicle automatically switches to AWD.

 

Known Automatic AWD events

  • outside temperature (owner states below 37F)
  • wheel slip
  • Dodge secret sauce
  • Of course there is a small delay when slippage occurs for the AWD to Kick in

Manual AWD engagement you can turn on AWD by doing the following:

  • AutoStick mode (+/-)
  • Engage Sport Mode
  • Activating the wipers for an extended period of time, LOL my favorite way to add power before launch

zAutomotive TaZer – Mapping Aux Buttons, Font Camera, Fan Control

With the new firmware releases came come cool new features, we will go over the following in this video:

  • Front camera using the AV kit installed in this video
  • Get the AV Kit Here: zAutomotive.com Accessories
  • Engine Fan Control : With the ignition on but engine not running, press the right arrow and cruise cancel button at the
    same time to toggle the engine fans on and off. They will turn off automatically if the battery drops to 11.0V.
  • Button Remap: This function allows the assignment of “hotkeys” for quick access to some of the Tazer’s functions. The
    ACC buttons (if equipped) or an “AUX” button bank (or Viper buttons for old style) may be used for this function, as can
    the SPORT button on 2016-17 Scat Packs. While the dash is in Audio mode, press and hold the left arrow (back button
    for old style) and press the button you’d like to remap. The choices are: Any of the 8 light shows, back/front/aux
    cameras/video, line lock, custom drive mode, ESP kill, Force RWD, Launch Mode. Keep in mind that not all functions
    pertain to all vehicles.

We’re back with another upgrade to the Z Automotive TaZer Firmware.  This time we are upgrading to ZPU Version 1.4.9 and TaZer Firmware 2.2.8, I’ll give you a list of the new features at the end.

Here are some of the new features added

  • The ability to control the engine fans while the car is in the run position with the engine off, very useful for waiting online at the Drag strip.  I have a video coming up on this in the next few days
  • TPMS disable so you can turn the Tire Pressure sensors off it you are running your drag tires or your winter tires without sensors
  • The ability to set Daytime running light type for USA, Canada or none and which lights to use
  • He also added a button press to exit the menu, a fix to the light show loops and some code cleanup.

How to install a Dash cam in Most Cars

For the last few years I’ve been using various dash cams, I am by no means a professional installer, in this video I will share my tips for install, placement and a few things I picked up along the way. As you can see from some of my footage Dash cams are necessary I hope to only ever need to pull footage of North Jersey Mopar runs and sunsets…

Raw uncompressed Dash cam footage

You must (Right Click and Save As) Then play using your normal media player Quicktime, VLC Player or Windows Media Player recommended

The 2 videos below are worst case Daytime fopotage, same place and time driving into morning low hanging Sun, the only difference between the 2 is a $6 CPL (ploarizer) filter added to eliminate dash glare.

DAY DRIVING

This is 1920×1080 with the camera as is out of the box, quality is good, but with all dash cams the dashboad glare annoys me. I use the footage for cruising videos and other stuff so I prefer a clean video.

CPL FILTER ADDED

This is 1920 x 1080 with a stick on CPL (polarizer) I picked it up from eBay for $6.00 for another camera and it happen to stick on this one as well almost eliminating the glare

The GRDIAN also has a 2560 x 1080 mode which is really nice, here is the raw footage from a club run.

NIGHT DRIVING

1920 x 1080 Night footage (note, I have tinted headlights and these roads have almost no lighting I need to find some clips on well lit highways.
