Challenger Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Swap

Installing a Carbon fiber Steering wheel in a friends Challenger Hellcat, because I cannot afford to buy one myself ;).  These Steering wheels run between $1200.00 – $1800.00 and higher depending on the leather and finishes. While this one is not perfect it looks great and the owner paid less than $800.00 for it so it was a good deal despite the order issues.

I won’t be promoting the vendor that sold this one, but if you are looking for a Carbon fiber Steering wheel reach out to Randal or Jose at modfx and they will take care of you.

 

IMPORTANT

  • Discard and replace the Steering wheel Bolt every time you remove!
  • Steering Wheel bolt Torque to 63 ftlbs
  • 2016, 2017, 2018 Challenger Steering Wheel Bolt – Mopar (6511907AA) Other models are available search or call Stevewhiteparts.com or eastcoastmoparts.com

A little bit of Drama with a happy ending.

Special thanks to Marissa and Nielsen Auto Body for taking care of me quickly and painlessly. After sending a few photos they setup an appointment for me to drop off the wheels on a Tuesday and I had them back complete on Friday!

 

Update 06/11/2020: the 2 refinished wheels were chipped and flaking off in a year and less than 4,000 miles.  Taking them to get properly powder coated.

Challenger Shaker Driver Side Half Cover

In today’s video we deal with a a major issue all Challenger Shaker owners struggle with, being cheated out of the driver side half cover. Anthony over at Scalia Motorsports is cutting the half cover of your choice to fit in the driver side area, for a little more he will even paint it, and if you want a matching, painted set you can even add the passenger side to your order.

His covers are priced way below many others on the market right now so grab them before he realizes!  Steve’s cover was painted in white knuckle with B5 blue accents and the edge trim was painted in B5 with a flex agent as an experiment, it looks great but we don’t think it’s going to last so if you like try this one from Amazon:

 

The White Knuckle Shaker belongs to Instagram @scatbee3, Steve had his passenger side half cover painted by another company and before he was able to get the driver side worked out the company stopped making custom parts.

Auxbeam W-Series LED bulbs with Spyder Tinted Headlights for the Magnum

06/11/2019 less than 2 weeks and the Passenger side Spyder headlight is about 60% covered in condensation :/ I contacted support to see what they have to say.   The Auxbeam lighting is still kicking butt though!

 

What do you think of the New tinted SPYDER AUTO headlights for the magnum? Driving at night is so much better thanks to the Auxbeam W-Series LED bulbs in both my headlight low beams and driving lights.
This upgrade took about 5 hours, included front clip removal, Halo wiring, Driving light removal and driving light/fog lens polishing.
